From humble beginnings Excel was founded in 1993 in a one-bedroom apartment by a woman, Irene Reyes, also known as “The Glove Lady” ® and "The Supply Lady"™ with a simple goal to raise 3 children responsibly and to make ends meet. Irene Reyes began selling medical gloves from the back of her car. Her initial sale of $120 thrived to several stages through business diversification and business acquisitions of the company to now being one of the leading importer and distributor of gloves, safety, medical, janitorial and in 2015 added office supplies to their line of products in the Northwest.
The company has come a long way from the apartment to a public warehouse then in 2000, Excel moved to an 8,000 square foot warehouse in the City of Fife, WA. In 2011, Excel expanded its warehouse space to over 16,000 square feet to include a retail store showcasing safety and industrial, medical, office and janitorial supplies.
With the assistance of small business programs and mentorship through the SBA, City of Seattle and WA State, Ms. Reyes capitalized in building and enhancing business relationships throughout the years. Her initial customers remain to be her most loyal ones.
